MADISON — St. Maria Goretti Parish is celebrating its Golden Jubilee, “Gathering and Growing in Faith 1959 to 2009.”
The celebration kicked off in September and will conclude with a Jubilee Mass of Celebration during the parish festival the weekend of June 12 to 14, 2009.
Included in the year’s activities are the delivery of the pictorial directory, sale of the new parish cook book, a mission with Fr. Pete Schavitz in April, the formation of a St. Maria Goretti “alumni” group, and receptions for early members and priests and religious who have served the church through the years.
Historical information (pictures and stories) are being collected and the parish welcomes anything people want to share. The parish is trying to locate its early members (1959 to 1963) so they may be recognized. The parish is also looking for alumni of St. Maria Goretti School.
