SINSINAWA — Sr. Kathleen Malone, OP, died Oct. 29, 2018, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster, Wis. Her religious name was Sister Donaldus. The funeral Mass was held at the Dominican motherhouse, Sinsinawa, Nov. 6, 2018, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Kathleen made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 5, 1958, and her perpetual profession Aug. 5, 1961. She taught for 39 years and served in educational administration for 18 years. Sister Kathleen served in Wisconsin and Illinois.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Kathleen taught at Sacred Heart, Reedsburg, 1965-1968, and Edgewood Campus School, Madison, 1980-1984 and 1990-2004. She further served the Edgewood Campus School as principal, 1984-1990, and president/principal, 2004-2016.
Sister Kathleen was born March 17, 1938, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Francis “Frank” and Dorothy (Vuagniaux) Malone. Her parents and a brother, Daniel Malone, preceded her in death. She is survived by many friends from Madison, Wis., and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared 60 years of religious life.
