David Stiennon to serve as president of St. Ambrose Academy

On July 2, 2009April 24, 2024
--

MADISON — Madison attorney David R. J. Stiennon, 45, was announced as the new president of St. Ambrose Academy, a grade six to 12 Catholic school on Madison’s west side.

“I welcome David’s generous commitment to our mission,” said Rob Marsland, PhD, the founding president of St. Ambrose Academy. “I look forward to working with him in this time of growth for our school.”

Marsland, the president of Verona technology startup Optametra, LLC, will remain active on the St. Ambrose Academy board.

“Catholic education is absolutely critical to the mission of the Church in our diocese,” said Stiennon. “I am greatly blessed to participate in this way in this indispensable work of helping young people encounter Jesus Christ in a life-changing way.

“St. Ambrose Academy offers a great gift to our community in our excellent teachers, principal, and staff who are committed to offering a classical education, rooted in the Catholic faith, to the middle school and high school youth of our diocese.”

Stiennon, a Madison native, has practiced patent law locally for 20 years and is a partner with the Madison law firm of Stiennon & Stiennon. He has served on the St. Ambrose Academy board in various capacities for the last five years.

St. Ambrose Academy is a Catholic middle school and high school located in Madison and is accredited by the NAPC*IS, the National Association of Private Catholic and Independent Schools.

Established in 2003, its facilities are located in the religious education wing of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish at 602 Everglade Dr. The school offers a classical education rooted in the Catholic faith.
