JANESVILLE — With much of the new St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital structure now in place, attention is quickly turning to who will work in the new facility.
St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital announced that the first hire in this phase is Eric Thornton, who has been named director of human resources.
Thornton, a Janesville native, comes to St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital from Dean Health Plan, where he served as director of human resources since 2000. He has 17 years of experience in human resources both in and out of healthcare.
“I am very pleased to have Eric Thornton join our team,” said Kerry Swanson, president of St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. “Being a resident of Janesville, Eric has a firm understanding of the needs of our community. He will be taking the lead in developing the hiring plan for St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital and move that process forward.” Thornton’s first day on the job was on November 8.
St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital is currently recruiting for vice president of patient care services and vice president of operations. The hospital plans to have its management team hired by the end of March 2011 at which time the focus will shift to general hiring.
