I took a couple of audio-visual trips down Memory Lane over Labor Day weekend.

My first trip consisted of dusting off two VHS tapes and watching some “home movies” of the high school band trip to Canada that I went on when I was a senior in high school back in the summer of 2002.

Although I and some of my peers may have rolled our eyes at the time, I’m very grateful that one of the parent chaperones on the trip was constantly using his camcorder and captured more than a dozen hours of memories as they were happening.

Newsprint tariffs must be stopped

The Catholic Herald was notified by our printer that there will be an increase in our charges starting in August. The main reason given for this increase was the rise in newsprint prices.

Why is this happening? Our government, at the request of a single paper producer, has assessed tariffs (which are really new taxes) on newsprint imported from Canada.

40 Days for Life begins February 17

This spring, from February 17 to March 28, Madison and surrounding communities are uniting with over 160 other large cities across America, as well as locations in Australia, Canada, and Ireland, for the largest coordinated spring pro-life mobilization in history — the nationwide 40 Days for Life campaign.
