MADISON — As 2020 comes to a close, the Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation (CDMF) has a lot to be grateful for.
As of October 30, the foundation has reached $55 million in assets under management and expects to finish out the year strong.
Over the past year, more than $225,000 has been distributed to support the programs and operations of parishes and schools.MADISON — The Catholic Multicultural Center (CMC) is still making a difference, one person at a time!
Throughout the pandemic, the CMC has continued to offer crucial services to help people meet their basic needs: food pantry with personal hygiene items, food pantry delivery, employment search assistance, low-cost immigration legal services, and Dane County’s only free community meal served every day of the week.
Though we cannot gather in-person this year, the CMC is continuing the tradition of its annual bilingual (English/Spanish) Radiothon fundraiser and community celebration with La Movida radio.

One of the most heartbreaking results that has come out of this most recent election comes to us out of Colorado. Some faithful pro-life groups were able to put the question of banning late-term (after 22 weeks in utero) abortion on the ballot, and a majority of voters in Colorado voted in favor of late-term abortion. Let that sink in for a minute.
Do you know what late-term abortion entails? It entails the abortionist injecting the baby’s heart (through the mother’s abdomen) with a chemical that will cause cardiac arrest in the baby. Then, the mother is sent away until her baby is dead. Next, labor is induced. This labor can last for more than one day. The mother will give birth to an intentionally dead baby. There are 100,000 late-term abortions in the United States every year. Let that sink in for another minute. Father, forgive them, they know not what they do!I hope that everyone enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving. Truly, we have numerous blessings for which to give thanks. I am particularly grateful that our Catholic schools have been operating in-person this fall and that they have been able to provide children with a safe, faith filled, educational experience that honors and develops their intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and emotional traits by cultivating human relationships through in-person education. I am thankful that our students have experienced this aspect of “normal” life in the midst of a most abnormal year.
MADISON — Wisconsin’s Catholic bishops have announced the implementation of a protocol and reporting system for misconduct allegations involving a bishop within the state.
The new protocol was developed and implemented over the past several months and adheres to the Holy Father’s apostolic letter Motu Proprio, Vos estis lux mundi (“You are the Light of the World”).
For many years, all five Wisconsin dioceses have had robust and effective systems in place for reporting and responding to allegations of misconduct by all Church personnel, but these new measures have been adopted to ensure even more careful oversight for allegations involving bishops.The Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation, Inc. The 2020 Catholic Charities of Madison Faith in Action Celebration will look different than it has for the past 25 years, but the goal of the event remains the same — to celebrate the Corporal Works of Mercy across the Diocese of Madison and raise vital funds for Catholic Charities’ social services programs.
