Hence the expression, “A person with a why can live with any how!”
Christ was born to bring hope to us, to make life more meaningful in this world, and then offer us the hope of Eternity.
It is in a way providential that the Feast of Pentecost arrives this year just as our country is going through a convulsive social crisis.

Continuing on with our series on the Creed of the People of God, in honor of its 50th anniversary this year, the next two sections are about the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This creed of Pope Paul VI is based on the Nicene Creed we say at Mass, but it goes into greater detail about what Catholics are required to believe in order to be “practicing Catholics” and (more importantly) in order have that faith without which we cannot be saved.

In this commentary on the Decree of the Second Vatican Council, On the Adaptation and Renewal of Religious Life (Perfectae Caritatis), we have been reflecting on how the council fathers envisioned a deep renewal of what the Church calls “the Consecrated Life.”
Number 12 of the decree speaks of one of the evangelical counsels, chastity, as at the core of that life.

The decree of the Second Vatican Council on which these reflections are based speaks in the very first paragraph about special gifts of the Holy Spirit which have been imparted to the Church.
The purpose of these gifts is the building up of the Church in the world, and for manifesting God’s own kind of Life in the world.
REEDSBURG — On January 8, 2015, the second evening in a series of talks for the Spirits and Spirituality Program was held at Karstens Hall at Camp Gray in Reedsburg.
The program is a joint effort between St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells, St. Joseph Parish in Baraboo, and Sacred Heart Parish in Reedsburg. All parish members ages 21 and over are invited to attend.
BOSCOBEL — Corpus Christi Parish is presenting a Life in the Spirit Seminar on the Sundays of Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Nov. 2 and 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 405 E. LeGrand St.
There will be speakers, witnesses, music, discussion groups, and prayer for the release of the Holy Spirit. Education and teaching credits will be available. There is no charge for the seminar.
JANESVILLE — The Adult Catholic Spirit Club, Janesville is sponsoring a one-day trip to Holy Hill and Greendale Village on Thursday, Oct. 23.
The bus will depart from St. John Vianney Church in Janesville at 8:30 a.m., returning at approximately 6 p.m.
Tour cost of $50 includes transportation, tours of Holy Hill (Mass attendance optional) and historic Greendale (both have gift shops), and lunch which will be at the Alpine Retreat in Hubertus.
