MADISON — The Madison Catholic Woman’s Club (MCWC) will be celebrating another year of religious, charitable, and civic activities on Tuesday, May 8, at a 12 noon luncheon at Blackhawk Country Club, 3606 Blackhawk Dr.
Highlights of the Spring Celebration will include announcement and presentation of the Christian Achievement Award for 2018, acknowledgment of new club members, and donations to local charitable organizations of cash and in-kind goods totaling over $20,000.
CROSS PLAINS — “Respecting the Dignity of God’s Creation” is the theme for the spring conference of the West Dane Council of Catholic Women (CCW) Tuesday evening, April 24, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Cross Plains.
Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. with Mass at 5 celebrated by Fr. Tom Kelley, pastor, and Msgr. Duane Moellenberndt, Sun Prairie. The event takes place this coming Saturday, April 29, at La Casa Grande Restaurant in Beloit. Cocktails are served at 5 p.m. followed by dinner, entertainment, silent auction, and a live auction, which includes a signed Green Bay Packers football.

MADISON — The Madison Catholic Woman’s Club celebrated women of the past and present at the club’s 102nd annual Spring Celebration held recently at the Blackhawk County Club.
First for the present. Each year the club recognizes an individual or group of individuals who perform charitable works in the community with its Christian Achievement Award.
This year the award went to Rita Hohlstein, a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Waunakee. Married to Ernie for 50 years, Hohlstein has two children and four grandchildren, noted Kathy Stroshane, the club’s Spiritual Committee chairperson.
BELOIT — A Spring Sing and Art Walk will be presented for parents and the public on Wednesday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Grade School (OLA) gymnasium.
This celebration of the school’s arts programs will showcase the OLA choral groups and band, as well as students’ art projects.
MADISON — “Built on a Rock” is the theme of the Madison Diocesan Choir’s Spring Concert to be presented on Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Center, 702 S. High Point Rd.
Choir Director Dr. Patrick Gorman said the theme points to Christ as our rock and the cornerstone of our faith as we look forward to our heavenly home. “We’ve taken the theme, ‘Built on a Rock,’ and selected Scripture readings and songs based on the theme,” he said.

SPRING GREEN — St. John the Evangelist Parish in Spring Green is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m.

STOUGHTON — St. Ann Parish will hold a Spring Fever Gift and Plant Fair on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 324 N. Harrison St. Proceeds will help defray expenses for parish youth who are making a mission trip to Logan, W. Va., this summer.
Over 30 vendors will have hand-crafted jewelry, knit and fabric arts, straw baskets, African artifacts, stained glass and suncatchers, cards and signs, food and drink baskets, sewn and knitted baby/children/adult items, kitchen towels and accessories, cardigans and sweatshirts, and home décor.
