MADISON — Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison has named Timothy Cavanaugh, JCL, the chancellor for the Diocese of Madison.
The appointment was effective as of December 1.
Cavanaugh had served as the promoter of justice and defender of the bond in the diocesan tribunal. He will continue working with the tribunal while serving as chancellor.
He replaces former chancellor William Yallaly who, earlier this month, took a national position with the Knights of Columbus.
