Speak out, defend Church, and draw others to Christ

On April 22, 2010October 30, 2024
Laurie Favreau, Janesville

To the editor:

Reading my local newspaper I find the Holy Spirit directing me to speak out in regard to the article about Pope Benedict stalling a pedophile case in 1985.

People don’t understand there are enemies of Jesus in today’s society who are trying to tear apart our Lord’s Church.

There are statutes of limitations involving public schools stipulating that they are only allowed to go back 10 years in a case of molestation involving a teacher and they can sue for no more than $50,000.

The Church has taken steps to deal with abuse. Any priest accused is removed from his parish immediately if there is a credible allegation.

As martyrs spoke out and in doing so their deaths brought millions to Our Lord’s truths, so we must speak out and draw others to Christ Jesus and to eternal life.
