Help Camp Gray continue its mission at Benefit Dinner

REEDSBURG — “The world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness!” said Pope Benedict XVI.

These words are words that we should all live by as we go about our daily lives. And that is just what the staff at Camp Gray does each and every day.

An amazing place

For those who have never heard of Camp Gray, let me give you just a brief glimpse of this amazing place that pushes all of us to remember that we are made for greatness.

You drive down a long gravel driveway, in the middle of nowhere (or somewhere between the Dells and Reedsburg). You roll down the window of your car and simply experience the peaceful nature that surrounds you. Birds chirping, a gentle breeze blowing through the beautiful trees.

As you continue driving, you hear the most joyful sound: children laughing and giggling. Upon further investigation, you happen upon the BBC (basketball court), where dozens of kids and staff members are running around, playing basketball and panda ball.

Other kids are sitting in hammocks, cloud watching and sometimes having deep theological discussions about God, Jesus, and why we are on this Earth.

A gentle smile crosses your face before you join in on an epic game of Panda ball!

Wow! What an amazing scene. And I know that you’re thinking, “Self, how can I partake in this awesome beautiful scene?”

How you can help

Well, there is a perfect opportunity for you to help Camp Gray continue their mission of teaching kids to know that they are made for greatness.

Saturday, April 16, is the seventh annual Camp Gray Benefit Dinner. This dinner is the perfect opportunity to meet some of the staff that work for Camp Gray, along with others who have been impacted by camp in one way shape or form.

You can help to continue and make Camp Gray a great place for future generations to enjoy. This amazing night takes place at St. Francis Parish in Cross Plains.

Single tickets cost $75, but if you bring your friends, tables of eight are $500 and tables of 10 are $600. That works out to around $60 a person. The more people, the more opportunities to make Camp Gray great for the next kids coming to experience summer camp.

But wait, there’s more! You will be able to experience the Dueling Pianos, performing a piano fondue for your entertainment after an enjoyable socializing cocktail hour and delicious dinner catered by Eldorado Grill. The pianists are the same that perform at the Ivory Room!

So grab a friend, your spouse, your kids, your neighbor, and maybe that stranger off the street, buy a table, and come join us to hear more about what Camp Gray is all about and what a difference you can make.

With your help we can help campers who wouldn’t normally get to experience the beautiful place of Camp Gray and learn about how each one of us is made for greatness. Remember you are not made for comfort, you are made for greatness! We hope to see you there!
