Join pro-lifers at prayer vigil

On April 11, 2019February 15, 2022
Mary C. Uhler, Catholic Herald Staff

Perhaps you’ve seen the movie Unplanned and want to know what to do next.

One suggestion is to join pro-lifers from coast to coast in a solemn prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood facilities to pray for an end to abortion.

According to Vigil for Life Madison, Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider, performing 36 percent of all abortions in the nation. That’s over 330,00 each year.

Events in Madison

In Madison, a candlelight vigil will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. outside Planned Parenthood at 3706 Orin Rd. This prayer vigil will be led by Fr. Richard Heilman, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Pine Bluff.

Also on Friday, April 19, at 9:30 a.m., Good Friday Stations of the Cross will be held on the sidewalks surrounding Planned Parenthood in Madison also led by Father Heilman.

In addition, volunteers are needed each week to pray and witness to life outside the Planned Parenthood clinic. To sign up for hours, go to https://vigilforlife.org/calendar/monthview or email [email protected]

Many lives of babies have been saved by the “sidewalk counselors” outside Planned Parenthood. Sometimes women and men accept an invitation to visit the Women’s Care Center located across the street from the abortion clinic instead of keeping their appointment at Planned Parenthood.

Prayer for Life

Here is a prayer from Vigil for Life Madison which we can pray:

Lord Jesus, in your Holy Name, we ask for the conversion of hearts among the abortion supporters, workers, doctors, and staff at the Planned Parenthood abortion center in Madison. We pray for the closure of that facility and for your blessing upon the efforts of Vigil for Life witnesses for LIFE who pray for and counsel women and men contemplating abortion. May those considering abortion choose life for their children. We ask that all be accomplished according to Your Holy Will for Your greater glory. Amen.
