MADISON — As Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish (QP) “Returns Strong,” their goal of re-connecting with the community and re-energizing parishioners, kicks off this October with IGNITE-A Festival of Discovery.

This day-long event on Saturday, Oct. 2, will include opportunities for everyone to discover what QP has to offer.

Anointing of the Sick

Beginning in the morning, all are welcome to attend and/or be blessed in health at the Mass of Anointing of the Sick at 10 a.m.

This sacrament is available to anyone experiencing serious physical, spiritual, emotional, or mental illnesses, suffering chronic disease, or anticipating serious surgery.

There is no advance registration.

If you have questions, call the Pastoral Care Office at 608-231-4617.

Fall Game Day

QP School will host its Fall Game Day, where everyone is welcome to come and cheer on the girls’ volleyball teams — and enjoy face painting, music, and an outdoor obstacle course led by the flag football teams.

At 5 p.m., join the parish for Mass, followed by an evening of community with food trucks, games, and music in the QP parking lot.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to set up a picnic to enjoy dinner and desserts from a variety of food trucks and music from local musicians.

During this time, QP Parish will have tables set out with information, activities, and games where you can learn more about all of the various parish ministries.

There is truly something for everyone.

Before and after Mass, all are invited to help fill the Big Truck by donating food, pantry items, clothing, and small household items for St. Vincent de Paul.

Come discover how to light the fire in your faith and your community.
