National president to speak at convention

MADISON — Sandra Hull, Patch Grove, diocesan president, has issued the call to the 56th annual convention of the Madison Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (MDCCW) to be held Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15 to 16, at the Bishop O’Connor Center here.

The theme is “Moving Forward with Faith, Hope, and Joy.” Hosted by Rock Deanery, co-chairmen are Meg Collins and Mary Syverson.

Convention day, Wednesday, June 16, registration is from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served during registration. The annual MDCCW meeting will be held at 9 and will include election of officers.

Highlight of the convention will be the keynote address at 10 with Patty Johnson, National Council of Catholic Women president, who will address the theme.

Msgr. James Bartylla, vicar general, will be the main celebrant at the concelebrated liturgy at 11 followed by a 12:15 p.m. luncheon. There will be commission reports at 2 p.m. along with an “educational share shop” led by Patty Johnson.

The preceding day, Tuesday, June 15, registration will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the MDCCW board meeting at 11:45. There will be a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. A hospitality hour at 5:15 will precede the 6 p.m. banquet followed by entertainment.

The $25 Tuesday fee includes the banquet and entertainment. Cost for Wednesday is $30 and includes the luncheon.

Room accommodations at the center include: dorm room-one person per room at $32; dorm room-two persons per room at $36; full room (one full size bed)-one or two persons per room at $50.

Mail reservations to Meg Collins, 17 Highland Ave., Edgerton, WI 53534, before June 1. No registrations will be accepted after June 1.
