MIDDLETON — The Catholic cluster parishes Habitat for Humanity Church Build Harvest Benefit Dance at St. Bernard Parish raised more than $10,000 in funds toward the $65,000 commitment of the cluster parishes.
The five parishes — St. Bernard, Middleton; St. Francis, Cross Plains; St. Martin, Martinsville; St. Peter, Ashton; and St. Thomas Aquinas, Madison — have raised a total of more than $40,000 toward the total financial commitment. The parishes will also contribute volunteer labor toward the construction of the home to be built in the spring of 2010 off Northport Dr., Madison.
Latasha Ivy and her two sons were selected as the family for the Habitat for Humanity church build home. She was joined by her two sisters and a friend when she attended the Harvest Benefit Dance. The more than 200 guests attending enjoyed music donated by Al Breunig and the “Fuzzy Side Up” band.
The next fund raising event will be the St. Nicholas Holiday Festival at St. Bernard Parish Center, Sunday, Dec. 6, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Activities will include a Christmas ornament and bake sale and craft activities for children. St. Nicholas will be there to greet children. The public is invited to attend.
