Kansas style pulled pork sale for the Kelsey and Derek Townsend Family

Catholic Herald Staff

ASHTON/CROSS PLAINS — Last fall, Kelsey (McCarthy) Townsend contracted COVID late in pregnancy.

Her baby Lucy was delivered prematurely at 39 weeks while Kelsey was in an induced coma and on a ventilator.

Kelsey remained in the hospital on a ventilator and under a prognosis that included lung transplant before she could return home to a normal life.

Following what could be described as a miraculous recovery, Kelsey was able to return home to first meet her new daughter early this year after nearly three months in the hospital.

Husband Derek has been providing full-time care for the family’s four children and is therefore unable to work his regular job.

To help the family, three local Knights of Columbus Councils are selling pulled pork (2.5-pound bag for $20).

You can go online to place an order, and/or make a donation at: http://bit.ly/KoCBBQPork or call Greg Wagner to place an order at 608-576-0991.

You can pick up your order after the weekend Masses as follows: St. Francis Xavier in Cross Plains — Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m.; St. Peter Ashton — Saturday at 4:30 p.m. or Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
