The Diocese of Madison has announced the creation of a new merged parish — St. Pius of Pietrelcina Parish — effective September 27.
The merger of St. Pius of Pietrelcina Parish unites the church communities of St. Joseph Parish in Dodgeville, Ss. Anthony and Philip Parish in Highland, Ss. Mary and Paul Parish in Mineral Point, and St. Thomas Parish in Montfort.
St. Joseph School in Dodgeville is also part of the parish.
Fr. Tafadzwa Kushamba will serve as the pastor, with Fr. Alex Carmel serving as parochial vicar.
A Mass of installation for Father Kushamba will be celebrated at a later date.
A future Catholic Herald article will cover the installation and more about the merger.
