Al Ringling Theatre, Baraboo, announces Lively Arts Series

On September 12, 2013
Kevin Wondrash

BARABOO — The historic Al Ringling Theatre, 136 4th Ave., Baraboo, announces its lineup of shows for the 2013-14 Lively Arts Series. The series features a variety of artists in different performance genres, including some regional favorites.

  • The series opens on Friday, Oct. 4, with the down-home sounds and sweet harmonies of Robin and Linda Williams and their group.
  • Singer and playwright Lisa Rock and her six-piece band are keeping the Carpenters’ holiday traditions alive with spot-on renditions of the unforgettable Christmas tunes on Friday, Dec. 13.
  • Appearing on Sunday, Jan. 19, the Annie Moses Band plays a blend of fiddle, jazz, and classical influences fused with folk inspired vocals.
  • On Friday, Jan. 31, the Madison Bach Musicians will perform. This ensemble is dedicated to presenting the best music of the Baroque, Renaissance, and Classical periods.
  • The Stand-up Dads offer family-funny humor to chase the winter blues away on Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14.
  • Missoula Children’s Theatre will be back with their annual residency, featuring the unique adaptation of Pinocchio. Auditions will be Monday, Feb. 3, with performances on Saturday, Feb. 8. Classroom educational workshops for school groups are available during that week.
  • “Tear Down The Wall” presented on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, is a multimedia concert for the senses where the iconic Pink Floyd album, The Wall, is reinterpreted by a cast of musicians and artists in a powerful and imaginative way.
  • The series will conclude on Saturday, April 5, with “Spring String Gathering,” featuring Art Stevenson and High Water, with special guests White Mule. The band’s bluegrass sound comes from the duet singing of husband and wife team Art and Stephanie Stevenson, along with the spirited banjo and Dobro playing of Dale Reichert, and the hard-driving mandolin picking of Bruce King. Their seventh album, Twilight, has just been released.
