Knights of Columbus elect Ronald Faust as state deputy

On May 8, 2014

Ron Faust

APPLETON — The Wisconsin Knights of Columbus (KC), at their annual convention in Appleton, elected Ronald Faust as the new state deputy, the leader of their order.

Ron and his wife, Gail, live in Cross Plains. Prior to this, Ron has served as warden, advocate, and state treasurer.

Ron has chosen as his motto, “Go To Joseph” and is committed to a growth in membership.

Ron is an active, insurance member of the Father Inama Council 3924 in Cross Plains and Holy Trinity-Tri-County Assembly 1948.

He and his wife, Gail, have been married 33 years and raised three children: Theresa, Brian, and Caroline.

Involved in Church

Both have taught religious education in their home parish of St. Francis Xavier in Cross Plains, and both are Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Gail also serves as sacristan and Ron as lector, altar server, and choir member.

Ron is a Knight of Divine Mercy, a faith formation apostolate for Catholic men; a retreatant at the KC-founded Monte Averno Retreat Center in Appleton; and is on the 24/7 Eucharistic Adoration Team at Holy Redeemer Parish in Madison.

KC awards and service

The Faust family has received the KC Council Family of the Month and Family of the Year Awards, and Ron has been Knight of the Month and Knight of the Year.

He has served as council recorder, grand knight, trustee, 1st Degree team member, and Mother’s Day Breakfast chairman, a council project he initiated.

Pro-life work

Ron had the privilege of working with his Brother Council Knights who, with the help of then State Deputy Richard Ammon, successfully launched the Madison Diocese Respect Life Billboard Campaign, now in its fifth year and winner of Supreme Council’s second place award for community service projects for the 2004 to 2005 fraternal year.

Most recently, Ron served three years as the Respect Life Program Coordinator for the state council.

As a pro-lifer, Ron, with the help of the State KC Respect Life Team, spearheaded the first of its kind Post Abortion Healing Conference in Wisconsin, which brought together three giants of this ministry: Wisconsin’s own Vicki Thorn of Project Rachel and Kevin and Dr. Theresa Burke of Rachel’s Vineyard.

It was this conference that is credited with bringing Fr. Frank Pavone, the founder and director of Priests for Life, to Wisconsin to speak at the State Deputy’s Banquet of the 105th Convention of the Wisconsin State Council of the Knights of Columbus in Wisconsin Dells.

Both Ron and Gail work full-time and are involved in their community and in the American Legion family, where Gail currently serves as the Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary and Ron currently serves as the Sons of American Legion Detachment of Wisconsin chaplain.
