St. Vincent de Paul will hold grand opening at new Sun Prairie store

On January 14, 2015
Chris Lee

SUN PRAIRIE — To celebrate the welcome its new Sun Prairie “St. Vinny’s” location has received from the community since the store opened in November, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has announced it will hold a grand opening event there Friday through Sunday, Jan. 16 to 18. The thrift store is at 1110 W. Main St.

The Sun Prairie St. Vinny’s store is now the society’s largest of seven Dane County locations. It features more than 19,000 square feet of retail space, as well as a drive-through donation center.

The store offers gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, furniture, housewares, small appliances, books, and more.

During its grand opening, the Sun Prairie store will offer the following promotions:

• While supplies last, those entering the store each grand-opening morning will receive a St. Vinny’s refrigerator magnet printed in Sun Prairie’s own “Cardinal” red on white.

• Those completing an entry slip will be entered in a daily drawing for a $25 gift card.

• Items that are part of the store’s current “Collectible Toy Event” will be for sale.

• Otherwise-unannounced sales on various categories of merchandise will take place throughout the weekend.

• Customers using their VIP (Vinny’s Insiders Program) rewards cards will earn everyday savings toward future purchases.

The store’s hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Purchasing items from St. Vincent de Paul’s thrift stores supports the charity’s mission of helping neighbors in need. The same is true of goods donations made to the stores.

Donors’ contributions of gently used clothing, shoes, furniture, housewares, books, toys, and more are accepted in the store’s drive-through donation center seven days a week (Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Goods donors in Dane County may also call 608- 278-2920 during typical business hours to request a free home pick-up by truck — especially useful for furniture, other large items, garage-sale leavings, and high-volume donations.

More information about the store is available by visiting facebook.com/SunPrairieVin nys or calling 608-837-4500.
