MADISON — The Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation (CDMF) is happy to share some great news from our fundholders over the past few months.
In 2014, St. Dennis Parish in Madison established the St. Dennis Catholic Education Endowment Fund to support both their grade school and religious education programs.
Over the past seven years, the fund has seen significant growth, made possible by the faithful support of the parish and strong investment returns.PORTAGE — St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Portage recently announced plans for a capital fund drive to its members.
The effort will be entitled the “Our Church-Our Future” campaign.
Its aim is to raise the funds required to renovate and expand the church and parish facilities.
A minimum goal of $3,500,000 has been set for the effort which will enable the parish to break ground on the project.
MADISON — The Wisconsin Knights of Columbus thanks all the Madison area recipients of the grants, distributed on October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, for applying for the 2020 State Culture of Life Grant Fund.
The Knights consider it an honor to participate in this way in the life-affirming work of the worthy recipients.

“Today, at my request, the Board of Trustees approved a $500,000 student relief fund,” Sister Mary Ellen said.
“This provides immediate cash relief for students. So many service industries that our students rely on for employment are affected. (CDMF) is excited to announce a new fund that will provide tuition assistance to families seeking a Catholic education at a Diocese of Madison parish grade school (K-8).
The Hathaway Family Tuition Assistance Endowment was established in December of 2018 by a generous gift from Steve and Elaine Hathaway and their families.
When determining how the Hathaways would leave their legacy, Elaine recalled her parents, who made it a priority to have their seven children attend Catholic grade school, only made possible by receiving tuition assistance from their parish.
September 5 marks the celebration of St. Mother Teresa’s feast day. We celebrate her as a saint and draw inspiration from her life committed to serving Christ and His people, especially the poor and suffering.
Mother Teresa was beatified on October 19, 2003, by Pope Saint John Paul II, and Pope Francis canonized her on September 4, 2016.

MADISON — Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison recently presented three checks to Jackson Fonder, CEO and president of Catholic Charities Madison.
One check, totaling $185,000, was from the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). This money came from additional proceeds made available when the diocese reached its giving goal for the year.
The Diocese of Madison has supported Catholic Charities with more than $400,000 from last year’s ACA.MADISON — The Wisconsin Catholic Conference (WCC), the public policy voice of the bishops of Wisconsin, supports and offered testimony on two bills that would restrict the use of taxpayer funds to pay for elective abortions.
On April 19, the WCC testified in support of Assembly Bill 128 (Rep. André Jacque, R-De Pere), which would prohibit public authorities from subsidizing elective abortions.
