John Huebscher to retire as WCC executive director
MADISON — The Wisconsin Catholic Conference (WCC) announced that Executive Director John Huebscher will retire in January and Associate Director Kim Wadas will succeed him.
The WCC was organized by the state’s Catholic bishops in 1969 for the purpose of coordinating various interdiocesan activities and public affairs interests of the five Roman Catholic dioceses in Wisconsin on a statewide level.
Wisconsin should protect religious freedom
There has been a lot of discussion lately about the federal government’s failure to protect religious liberty.
Much of this discussion is over whether the Obama Administration adequately protects religious liberty under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly called “Obamacare.”
‘Neutral’ not good enough
To the editor:
I read with interest the bishops’ statement in the Catholic Herald on health care reform and also Kim Wadas’ “Amendment preserves long standing protection.”
What protection? The last time I read the Bible the Fifth Commandment was “You shall not kill.” So how could “the Catholic bishops pledge continued efforts to keep abortion neutral”?
