Sauk City parish promotes vigil for life

MADISON/SAUK CITY — This fall, from September 22 to October 31, Madison and surrounding communities are uniting with over 238 other cities across America as well as locations in other countries for the 40 Days for Life campaign.

In the Madison area, the 40 Days for Life campaign will stand for life through a 40-day peaceful, prayerful witness outside Planned Parenthood, 3706 Orin Rd., Madison. Contact Laura at 608-445-2063 or www.vigilforlife.org to learn more.

St. Aloysius Parish at 115 Madison St. in Sauk City is promoting the prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood and is hosting special prayer opportunities:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 22, 7 p.m. — Adoration and Pro-life Rosary at St. Aloysius Church.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 29, 6:30 p.m. — Walk for Life led by St. Aloysius High School Youth Group. All are invited to attend. The walk begins at St. Aloysius School gym and ends at the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Memorial to the Unborn in front of St. Aloysius Church. Religious education classes will follow at 7 p.m. Call Alice Hutter at 608-643-6116 with questions.
  • Friday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. — Mass in the Extraordinary Form at St. Aloysius Church with intention for the unborn and all of those affected by abortion
  • Thursday, Oct. 7, 6:30 p.m. — Sauk County Right to Life Banquet in St. Aloysius School gym. Tickets for chicken dinner and keynote speaker, Chuck Asay, are $10 for adults and $7 for teens and can be purchased at the parish office up until October 3.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m. — Pro-life Rosary in church led by St. Aloysius High School Youth Group.
  • Friday, Oct. 22, following 8:15 a.m. Mass — Pro-life Rosary in church led by St. Aloysius School students/teachers
  • Wednesday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. — Adoration and Pro-life Rosary in church.

Elementary and middle school religious education students will also be praying rosaries in their classrooms throughout the 40 days.
