Let your legislators know how you feel about health care reform measures

On October 22, 2009
Susan Armacost, Milwaukee

To the editor:

The debate on health care reform has been raging for months with the Democratic congressional leadership and various committees frantically trying to come up with a bill that will actually pass in Congress. But through it all, two things have not changed:

  • The health care reform bills under serious consideration would establish federal funding of abortion and provide tax subsidies for private insurance that covers elective abortions.
  • These health care reform measures would put older Americans in grave jeopardy through health care rationing.

Contact your U.S. representative and Wisconsin’s two U.S. senators.

Urge them to oppose any health care reform measure that does not explicitly exclude abortion or that contains provisions that would result in the rationing of health care.

The offices of Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold can be reached by calling 1-202-224-3121.

Reach your U.S. House member by calling 1-202-225-3121. If you don’t know who your representative is, give your zip code to the operator and you will be put through to the correct office.
