Catholic Campaign for Human Development grants

On August 22, 2013
Kevin Wondrash

MADISON — Bishop Robert C. Morlino has announced the distribution of three local grants from the diocesan portion of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) collection.

CCHD works to break the cycle of poverty by helping low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families, and communities.

This year the bishop has elected to distribute the local portion to three organizations recommended by the diocesan CCHD Advisory Committee, chaired by Fr. Jim Murphy.

“With God’s help, we will continue to help those in need, by way of local efforts, to break from the cycle of poverty,” said Bishop Morlino.

This year’s grant recipients and the amounts they received are:

  • The Immaculate Heart of Mary School Advantage Program in Monona — $2,200.
  • The Women’s Care Center of Madison Crib Club Incentive Program — $2,200.
  • The Catholic Multicultural Center Culinary Creations Program in Madison — $4,400.
