MADISON — Camp GLOW (Giving Loved Ones Wings) is a grief support day camp for kids and their parents/guardians who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Staffed by SSM Health at Home spiritual and grief counselors and specially trained volunteers, the day camp gives kids the opportunity to share their grief in a safe space.

All camps will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children ages six to 14 and their parents/guardians are welcome to attend. Campers must register prior to camp.

Camp GLOW will be held in the following locations:

• Waunakee — April 27, St. John the Baptist School (114 E. Third St.)

• Edgerton — June 1, Edgerton Community Elementary School (100 Elm High Dr.)

• Baraboo — June 8, Ochsner Park (903 Park St.)

Since children often experience grief differently than adults, Camp GLOW is designed to specifically address children’s grief. Because loss affects whole families, a parent/guardian must attend Camp GLOW with their child to learn about the grieving process, including differences between adult and child grief.

Camp GLOW is offered free of charge thanks to the generous support of donors to the SSM Health at Home Foundation of Wisconsin. Lunch, drinks, and snacks throughout the day are provided.

Registration is open for all camps online. A registration form can also be requested to be sent. To learn more about Camp GLOW or to register, visit ssmhealthathomeWI.com or call 877-356-4514 or email [email protected]
