JANESVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at St. John Vianney Church, 1245 Clark St. in Janesville, for George K. Steil, Sr., who died on March 29.
Bishop William H. Bullock and Msgr. Delbert Schmelzer will officiate at the Mass. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Janesville.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 3 until 7 p.m. at Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home and again on April 2 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Steil was a member of the Corporate Board of the Diocese of Madison. He was named a Knight of St. Gregory by Pope John Paul II in 1997 and received the Catholic Leadership Award from Catholic Charities in 1998.
