40 Days for Life to start on September 22

On September 15, 2021September 14, 2021
Kevin Wondrash

MADISON — The latest fall campaign of 40 Days for Life in Madison — 40 days of prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach to end abortion — will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

It will last for 24 hours each day through Sunday, Oct. 31.

The vigil site will be on the sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood facility at 3706 Orin Rd. on Madison’s east side.

Since 2007, 40 Days for Life campaigns worldwide have: saved more than 18,000 babies from abortion, closed more than 100 abortion centers, and led to the conversion of more than 220 abortion workers.

Kick-off event

Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison will be part of a kick-off event on September 22, at 7 p.m. at the vigil site.

As part of the event, learn about the power of sacramentals from Fr. Rick Heilman, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Pine Bluff.

Also, Mary Mead will speak on how abortion wasn’t the solution she had hoped for in her own crisis pregnancy, how she sought healing and now helps other post-abortive women through Rachel’s Vineyard retreats.

Join the vigil

For more information on the 40 Days for Life vigil in Madison to end abortion, or to sign-up for a vigil hour, go to www.vigilforlife.org or contact Gwen Finnegan at 608-393-8545 or [email protected]

Though drop-ins are allowed, participants are encouraged to sign up for a shift.

This ensures that all hours during the vigil are filled.
