Status of unborn children is key civil rights problem

To the editor:

It’s time for the minority of Americans who don’t yet embrace a pro-life position to realize that the status of children in the womb is the key civil rights problem of our day. Martin Luther King Jr. preached that “When we truly believe in the sacredness of human personality, we won’t exploit people, we won’t trample over people with the iron feet of oppression, we won’t kill anybody” (Christmas sermon, 1967).

Why is Latin returning to the Mass?

To the editor:

As Latin is returning to our Mass, we are asking the question, why? Some of the parish members felt the Latin Mass was beautiful, although most everyone participating understood very little. Many participants prayed the Rosary during Mass and still do today.

I remember when the Mass went to English. I don’t recall anyone criticizing the change. It was beautiful to understand the prayers and hymns.
